MIRACULOUSLY, I survived the day with only 35 pesos with me. Actually, there was an immediate deduction of 20 pesos for FX fare to Glorietta and the 15 pesos remains till I got home, thanks to my more fortunate friends, my JUNKO GALS~ siyeeeeet, libre all the way! XDDDD

I just finished watching "A Streetcar Named Desire" for the second time and gosh, the story still grips me. Of course, MARLON BRANDO still grips me. 8D
And since I love how beautiful and rich this play is, I'm determined to read Tennessee Williams' other works too. ^^ Makes me want to go to the library now.

Oh yeah, Luigi Pirandello's works as well. He's my inspiration for the Mask theory. So far I've read only a summary of his play, "Six characters in search of an author" and believe me, the ending was as loud as a gun shot. XD I get excited just thinking about it. If I can't have play watching as my luxury, then I'll settle for reading them.

GAAAAH~ I hope I'll be able to read other works of Ryunosuke Akutagawa and Guy de Maupassant too~ yes, yes. Naturalism is the name of the game. ^.~
(of course, I'm referring to the translated works, my dears.)

I miss watching Korean variety shows. *sniff*

I miss Happy Sunday, especially their "Catch the Mouse" portion. XD
Koreans have a different humour. Their punch lines are not particuallarly funny when you say it in English, but the delivery is the catch when they say it in their language. A proof of how much they have mastered their language. Oh well, every language have their take on humour.

Anyway, this movie deals a lot with love and the sky.
In literature, there is a literary device called foreshadowing to give a hint on an upcoming event in a certain circumstance, like a glass breaking to foreshadow war or chaos or in "A Streetcar Named Desire" Stanley's intrusion with Blanche's clothes and properties which foreshadows the rape.
In my case, I texted the Junko Gals this morning and told them to check out the sky because it was so blue and the clouds were just adorably fluffy and very much alive. Then I watched こいぞらand the two main characters would always look up at the sky or associate the other with the sky. ^^ こいぞら [Koizora] means "Sky of Love" by the way. So there~ amusing circumstance.

And the ending of this movie made me cry!

Gyaaaaah~ I hope they would finish subbing Tonari no 801-chan [となりの801ちゃん]. Haha~ all those fangirling from Yaoi-chan makes me want to hunt more BL material now. hyuk hyuk. So according to the film, I'm a fujoshi**? Etou...can't help it. I have a feeling that all women has a thing for men to men in them somehow... like some men who fanboy over girl to girl porn, ne? Well, the movie is about the relationship of Chibe-kun and Yaoi-chan. Both are otakus so they always talk about anime and have fun together at comic conventions. But Chibe-kun's worse dilemma is, his girlfriend (of 2 years) is a fujoshi, a female otaku who especially loves stories about male to male relationship. Chibe-kun is straight but he is so patient and loving that he tolerates Yaoi-chan's behavior.

Like Mao, I wasn't thinking of any Gazette when I had this dream of Ruki, if I remember correctly, the last video I watched that day was DBSK interviews.

But, well this is the dream:

Nasa set ako ng isang TV program tapos andun ako sa may audience area. And division nung set isa para sa kakanta, isa para sa nagho-host. Tapos ayun, ang alam ko guests sila Uruha and Ruki. Tapos nag-perform sandali si Ruki tapos iniwanan nalang siya dun sa set na yun.  Naalala ko pa ang Filipino talaga ng set kasi may mga abaka at bamboo sa may likod ni Ruki tsaka sa hosting area. Eh yung performing area (kung saan andun si Ruki) eh kaharap ko lang. Napansin ko (kahit walang ilaw) na tiniwangwang nalang si Ruki dun tapos patingin-tingin nalang siya sa paligid. Then may tatlong host ng the buzz na nagsalit at napatingin ako sa kanila. Yung isang host na bakla, banggit ng banggit sa pangalan ni Uruha, tinatawag niya pa! Napaisip tuloy ako kung andun din si Uruha pero alam ko magkasama sila ni Ruki dapat. Pero natapos na ata siya (e-ewan..) Then tinext ko pa nga si Mao kasi nag-rant ako dun sa lecheng host na akala ata e expression ang "uruha" kasi nung nag-exit siya nag-"anyeong haseo" pa siya, labo. At take note naka-Maria clara sila at may bamboo at bahay kubo na set sa likod nila ha. Then naramdaman ko nag-text si Mao pero napatingin ako kay Ruki. Natatawa siya sa hosts kasi siguro naririnig niya pangalan ni Uru.

Then sabi ko, picturan ko nga (ng patago, kaya linabas ko cellphone ko). Nung inangat ko na yung phone ko, napatingin siya sa akin kaya nahuli niya akong magnanakaw sana ng picture! Then...NGINITIAN NIYA KO. O-M-G!!! Then sabi ko nalang (ewan ko, medyo malapit na yung lugar ko sa kanya ngayon, kasi nagkakarinigan kami): "Can I? [take a picture]" then ngumiti lang siya ng pagka-sweet sweet! (soooobraaaa, dreamy~) Click. Then sabi ko isa pa pwede, okay daw. Picture. Kaso ang weird kasi yung lumabas sa lcd ko parang magazine pic kasi ang close up tsaka ang haba ng hair ni Ruki na blonde! May mga buntot din siya sa gilid then may hat pa siyang suot, pero nakakapagtaka lalo kasi ang itsura niya nun yung yung kulot siya na tsaka yung leather get-up niya. Tapos sabi ko "Thank you", then umalis na siya ng nakangiti pa rin. *kilig*

Tapos dumating na si Mao na naka-CFAD uniform pa at sabi niya di na daw sila aabot ni Franz kasi umuulan (sa show siguro nila Ruki). Tpos nagsitayuan na yung mga tao, sumama na ko.

Ayan, pag-gising ko kinikilig tuloy ako. Hanggang sa pag-ihi, kinikilig pa rin ako---
dahil kay Ruki. ARMFUFUFUFUFUFU~

I just realized how fortunate the Philippines is compared to other countries like Iraq, Iran and Afghanistan. Yes, even if we reason how fucked up the economy is and how immoral people behave in a Catholic country.

I was watching this show at Nat Geo (I think it was titled "Don't Tell My Mother..." but I'm not so sure) and they featured the life in Afghanistan apart from the war image that we know so much.They have a show that features music videos just like MTV. If MTV has existed more than 20 years ago in other parts of the globe, I think they're just getting started with this. And the hosts, although the required laid-back aura is demanded from them, they seem nervous. When asked what happened to the previous host of the show, the hosts answered they have no idea, but probably that she was killed. The hosts and the production have to be very careful about the level of exposure given away by the music videos, especially about women.

Then, if you think clubs are everywhere, think again. Clubs in Afghanistan are rare and almost hidden. Within these rooms of faint lights and loud music can men and women explore themselves and each other without the fear of getting arrested for not following clothing traditions and social laws. Well, what's fascinating is hip-hop in Afghanistan. It made me think how left behind a war-torn country really is.

There were more interesting stories in that show. Like, I was fascinated that there were actually women police in Afghanistan, to think that before they were not able to work or even go out alone in the streets. The women seemed really confident and that's a big relief. Although, women have to hide their whole body in their traditional clothing called a "burqa" whenever they go out.

Women in the Middle East have strict conditions when it comes to modesty and the most evident of this is to not allow any part of the body to be in public display because it might arouse sexual fantasies in the part of men. So it follows that simple gestures of affection between the opposite sex is prohibited, while ironically, holding-hands of the same sex is considered a common sight without any romantic connotation. To me, the "burqa" or the "niqab" (slightly different fashion from the niqab where only the eyes are seen) are oppressive clothing and as a woman, it pains me to see how women are limited in action by the very clothing they have to carry everywhere, every single day. Ever thought how Japanese Kimino, even how beautiful the fabric is, makes a woman's step a little smaller, a little slower (because of the weight) than the hakama worn by men, with its loose style? The binding of the feet in China is painful, deforming and a reminder how a woman's steps should always be behind the man. Ever thought that a pony-tailed hair or a hair hidden behind a head-dress is oppressive? I read a poem about this once and its about a woman enjoying a moment of sheer liberation when she "laid-down her hair" and felt the breeze of the air free to touch her neck, her chest and her hair to be taken away by its force. For the Afghan women, simple relief is when they can take off their burqa in public and no one telling them its wrong. Of course, no body can really do that. Wearing the burqa is almost the same as being blind because you have to look at the world behind a sort of gauze attached to the whole dress.

Well, things are moving slow for this country but the police woman interviewed said that the situation has improved than before. Women are able to work and study and the terrorism has lessen, but the scars of war will remain in the people.

And last, one of the stories of the show featured a man who went into hiding for more than a year because of mistaken identity. According to him, at that time the US military was catching one of the Taliban's head (which I immediately forgot the name),he was being suspected because of they look alike so much. One day a half-Afghan, half-American journalist came to his home and asked for a picture. The man even asked him to wear a new turban because it looked better in the picture. He agreed because he thought the deed was harmless. But then the pictures was published on the net by the journalist, earning him hundreds of dollars for a picture of the wanted criminal, while the innocent look-alike had to hide himself like a criminal just to save himself. It just proves how soul-less people can be at others' times of weaknesses. It is a dog eat dog world.

His SHOCKWAVE pics are just...I don't know.

I have really mixed feelings with this set of pictures. And I have to say, after this release and yesterday's release of Rock and Read of Uruha, Kai is the winner. I like his pictures better and there seems to be a story behind it. Well, I don't know if Kai contrinuted personally to the image he wanted to project in the picture set but really, it was like a whole transformation. As if the smiling, apple loving Kai did not exist. That powerful! Okay, at least for me. ^^ but I'm still very proud of Kai! He landed on the front page of this popular magazine and he had such a transformation. LOVE. IT.

This picture got me bad. I was thinking, is this the Kai that the fans can never know? Maybe it's his other self, the bad-ass Kai. Ah I don't know, I kind of feel detached from Kai in this picture but on the other hand, he's like a stranger whom you'll instantly fall in love with for the mystery he carries.
