Truth

"In order that all men may be taught to speak truth, it is necessary that all likewise should learn to hear it."

SAMUEL JOHNSON

A beautiful quote, isn't it? And undeniably true, an exact reflection of what we lack as people. It is not that we do not communicate, but what we communicate about lacks the sense of truth, for sometimes the truth it will hurt us. Yet isn't it that even from these hurtful truth of our reality helps us to change ourselves and our world into something better? The answer, Alexander Solzhenitsyn speaks:

ONE WORD OF TRUTH OUTWEIGHS THE WORLD

And suddenly I find supporting Jun Lozano as an important and rightful choice.

(Random thought: Solzhenitsyn's name is so complicated that speaking it is impossible for me and it writing it still requires me to check the spelling from the book cover again and again.)

In Fantasy

Last week I bought my copy of the latest Ladlad book which you'd probably figured out by now is titled Ladlad 3. Upon discovering that the third book was already "out" (ahahah~ how silly of me), I know I really had to go to Powerbooks and by myself a copy, as soon as possible! Luckily, I had the money and the opportunity to go to Megamall last week and gosh, how good it felt to buy a book again, feel it between my palms with its edges bulging the paperbag of Powerbooks. And yeah, the paper bag is the sole reason I'd rather buy my books in that store than National Bookstore.

Okay, so I began reading it yesterday on my way to school. I don't know, but after 3 years of riding the jeepney back and forth from my house to UST, I figured inside the moving vehicle was the most leisurely place of reading a book. Okay~ I know alot will complain about that, but I speak on a personal level here people, no need to tell me stuff about my eyes going bad or the pollution certainly not in jam with the texts, yeah. I KNOW. But try riding the jeepney for an hour and half (or more) for three years, you will need to find something to focus on. No. I don't have a thing for observation inside a jeepney nor to play psychic and read the minds of  people inside the vehicle, no I don't really pry on those things. Sometimes listening music for that long can get boring and I usually fall asleep just gazing out the window which is very dangerous, in the Philippines. Ya know wha I mean?

Anyway, I was reading the foreword of Danton Remoto and I was thinking maybe he's a really nice person. Of course, despite being gay and knowing the discrimination, he knows the importance of public service and had tried running as a Senator. But of course those narrow minded officials just would not let him through. There he mentioned RECTO (yes, the diploma and thesis haven). Suddenly, my mind was at work.

I was strolling along Recto when I spotted Danton Remoto looking at some books along the sides of the road. Of course, the fangirl that I am approached him and the conversation goes like this:

Miyuchi: (walking slowly towrds DR) Excuse me po. Hello~ Kayo po si Danton Remoto, diba?

DR: Ay! Kagulat ka naman! Hello. Yes, that's me. (smile)

M: (smile) (kilig) AHAHA!

No need to thank me dear. Sandali, bakla ka ba?

M: (grin) Pwede pa-autograph tsaka pa-picture?

SNAP! Ayun na. Taft na pala. haha~

Randomness (and again...)

It's no secret that I benefit alot from Quiapo. Everything is made cheap, affordable for the masses. But the view of vendors of different faces, products of various kind in front of the Quiapo church, is ironic. I remember the story when Jesus saw the scene outside his temple, and in his wrath, he threw over all the stables where things were being sold, shun the people away and scolded the people for being so disrectful of his Father's house. The Philippines as a catholic country proves to be the very irony of this example. Isn't it that in any church that you visit, there are so many things available to buy and vendors find these area so profitable because of the people in sight. Well, when we talk about morality what these people are doing are wrong, but there are others factors that should are equally important to consider to understand this case.

It's vacation time! MUWAHAHAHHAAHAH!!!! Although I have not completely absorb it, what the heck!
V^^V

Hello Summer~
-----------------------------------------------------------------

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! I really love Nodame Cantabile! I didn't know there was a 2-part special!

What I love most from this drama is, apart from the beautiful, beautiful classical music they produce (since the characters are musicians), the comedy and the lessons in life you'll learn along the way, they gave each characters the chance to grow individually, through each other's support and guidance and of course, love. Almost all the characters, from the minor to the main characters had all undergone developments. Shinichi Chiaki is finally able to ride the airplane, opening the doors for him to travel all over the world to learn and peform as a conductor, while Noda Megumi is able to learn music and enhance herself as a pianist in Paris, evolving from a pianist who stubbornly learns her pieces through hearing, she learns the importance of understanding what the piece is about, what it was made for and what was the background of the piece that led to the creation of it. They both grew so much in the drama.

Of course, Chiaki and Nodame are now officially a couple. Their love story is so cute it's almost fluffy. I hope the second season will be produced soon! XD

paker yin paker yang

The HAIR story

First premise: I got my hair cut yesterday. I like it. ^^

BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUT...long hairs should be OFF LIMITS for newly pierced ears. Just imagine the pain. You people know what I mean.

Okay, on to the hair. I finally bid farewell to my hair after a year. God knows how slooooooooooooow that hair grew, then it was time to get a new one. Actually, the act was upon Tita's impulse. Since it was a treat, I agreed. I usually have a one-length cut since all the stylist I've come to talk with said it was advisable for my hair-type. However, since Tita likes to make me pretty, she said to the bading to make it layered. I told him to have the sides really short so my I could show my earrings but he did something else. He gave me some bangs and some layers, but the ears did not show. Still, I like it. In the beginning, when he gathered my hair and cute a generous amount and length, my mind was going ballistic. I don't want my hair to be too short because it frames chubby face too much and it emphasize my cheeks. In short, I look like a fatty grade-schooler. No more bobs for me. >_< Well, since I don't know anything about the art of cutting hairs, I just let him do his thing. He said it was a Korean hair-style so, I got curious. The end result looks good. But I doubt it will look the same when it's not blow-dried or ironed, still the volume and manageability is something I should be happy about. ^^V

I also got a foot spa and pedicure. LUCCCKY~

Since I got my new fone, I took some pics with me:

ravanah
Ravanhan. My hair stylist. That's me at the side. But since I looked like an ass, Icropped my face. HAHA~ pretty, ne? Taena, mas maganda pa siya sa akin!

 spa

Susyal na ang index ngayon noh? SPA-ish na talaga ang makikita ng paa mo. XD

tita and me

Me and Tita.

The case of the missing Sendai.

Sendai Kamotsu

I just began to listen and love Sendai Kamotsu because of my cousin, Iris. I just love the band to pieces because they are tons of fun and craziness. It's stuffs like these that we need in order to keep sane. Hold on, insanity to keep you sane. Irony or paradox?

ANYWAAAAAAAAAAAY. (no lit talk for me for a while)

I just completed their concerts: Gaylympics Ebisu 2005 and Gay no Karasawagi for 2 days. Then the PVs and MP3s was given to me by Iris.

I was about to burn everything, including the GazettE Decomposition tour concert and other videos into DVD file when this morning, ALL THE FILES went missing.

!!!

TT_TT

Okay, not everything...but my Sendai Kamotsu folder is not present in any drive. Even my picture and music files.  I don't know what the hell happend, but I think my brother's games has something to do with it. And I just know he's the one at fault. But I'm also certain he'll never admit it, nor say sorry. Fuck. That's 3 days work with radiation. All that time and electricity spent for downloading all goes down the drain. How sad. I feel like crying.

Re-download.

Why paker yin paker yang?

That hair story was yesterday=good.

The missing case of Sendai today=bad.

See the balance?

Hmp.

BONUS!

(for fun)

SAGA of Alice9.

I don't really like the music of Alice9 but hell, Saga is one smexy bass whore. laplapin pa naman yung bass niya! XDDDD

Yuki

Yuki, our adopted dog is alive and kicking. She survived a deadly disease, much like a cancer to humans. We had her groomed, de-wormed and vaccinated and now look at her! So healthy! *hugs*

HAPPEEEE~

Ohoho. I sure am making one of my fuckin' goals come true. Finally, after so many years, I'm learning the PIANO.

As a child, whenever I would see someone playing the piano or even just the instrument, I would wish that I would be the one in front of those keys and play melodies, create harmonies of notes until I pass out. I don't know why I never asked to have my lessons earlier and I'm sacrificing cold [birthday] cash for piano lessons in this late age of mine. Oh well, atleast I would not be regretting not learning in the first place. After engaging in anime and proclaiming myself as an otaku, I completely forgot this longing but I guess it just recided at the back of my mind and timed itself to re-surface one day. When was that? ah~ I saw a Korean pianist (Yiruma) in Arirang channel and hell I fell in love with his music, I know I really wanted to play the piano. Then there's my Gazette fever. I was browsing through youtube when I came across a beautiful piano rendition of their song "Burial Applicant" by Blondebubbles and I know someday I would be playing that song with my own piano, my own effort, my own skill. I think that was the arbiter of this decision. See? Who said all TV and rock teaches is shit?

Hoookay, the only problem now is how the hell I'm gonna have an organ/piano. We don't have the money yet. And I already have an assignment! Sheeet. I should be be practicing right now. >_<

----

I just finished the whole Taiwanse version of Hana Kimi. Well, it is a good drama and not as bad as I heard. I know alot of my friends have been commenting that the Japanese version is better, but we have to keep in mind that Taiwanese have a different formula in their drama, as Japanese have theirs. So it's only natural that the two versions differ in their approach for their versions of the manga. And I though that there are quite a number of events and elements which were very important in the manga, which the Japanese version failed to put and the Taiwanese did. Yes, we all know that the Taiwanese version was loyal to the manga. I really want to make a full review of the manga, as well as the live-actions and some other stuff I want to relate in the story. But I have yet to read the manga [after skiming] to make a proper comparison. ^^ wow, PROJECT HK. Kakkoi~ XD

1st Philippine Cosplay Competition

The heat outside almost broke a fever's average temperature as it was burning hot. However, it is likely to be ignored by people like me and two of my pals who crave for a refreshing feel inside a mall; to meet friends in person after a while since vacation began; to share opinions and laughs with people of the same interest. Look out! There is a victorian maid posing with an ice cream, a man in short shorts with cotton candy blue hair, and a walking phallic symbol, erm, i mean a cactus! Yes, it is that time of the month once again where creativity as well as individuality and personality shines through role play; it's an anime convention!

Wahaha~ was that intro too dramatic? Oh what the heck, we went to the 1st Philippine Cosplay Convention in Robinson's Ermita last Saturday. I thought it was weird to label it the first, since there have been tons of Cosplay conventions in the past. Erm, whatever.

Anyway, I was with Mao and Aia the whole time, along with some friends from the VK group of my two friends, as well as Nanz and Mari. The convention was okay, I guess. It's sad that I can't get hyped up in conventions anymore. Something is wrong with me maybe, but the company kept me alive, anyway. We did not get to watch too much of the cosplay walk, except for the third batch. The cosplay walk had to be divided into 3 batches because the registered cosplayers reached a number of 101! Really, cosplaying is becoming really mainstream. I guess it's not such a bad thing since creativity when it comes to costume making, including practicality and such are honed in this "hobby", but some are just HUUUUURRRR. I don't know what the heck they are thinking. Uhm, cosplay walks SHOULD NOT be used for promotion of any kind. Please~

The venue was open for anyone who have the time, for FREE in short. I was not supposed to go if not for the gay movie that Nanz promised to lend me. Hoh, I have a pusong mamon for such treasures in the world, I just have to scorch myself under the sun to get it in Manila from Makati! Well, it was worthit. Mari and Nanz are always great company (wahaha~ o ayan, napuri na kayong dalawa ha! washuuu!) Since it was FREE, I thought it would be pretty chaotic. But I was wrong. The convention placed itself in the middle and properly barricaded their alloted space to compress its spectators inside the convention area. And there were furnitures to sit in! That's a first! There was not too many people that came, perhaps because OZINE is coming next week. No offence to PCC organizers. -_-;;

okay, time for PIC SPAM!

COSPLAYERS

Cactus-san

THE CACTUS. Cute ne? Is it a character from somewhere?

err that guy

Wow ang kinis ng legs. Nyahah~ hindi naka-stocking yan. Anyway, I'm dead from the anime-world so I don't know who this character is. But he looks fun, if not for the bugs on his lower leg. Erk. Nanz said he has an illness? Huwat?

MAKIBAKA!

ASTIG! XDDD
MABUHAY ANG PILIPINAS!

black magician

BLACK MAGICIAN from Yugi-Oh. I really admire his courage. OH BAKIT KAYA NIYO YAN!? I got a little guilty laughing at him. Cosplay, after all is self-expression. GOMEN~

JAck and maid

Jack Sparrow and a Victorian Maid/Lolita cosplayer(?). Haha~ I love the Jack Sparrow cosplayer because he was in total character! From the look to the manner of speaking, his one-liners, the hand gestures, even the gestures of the fingers and the eyes are THERE. This is what I call an encounter with a professional cosplayer. I really regret it that I wasn't able to take a picture of the Orlando Bloom look-alike. Black Pearl Philippines is amazing. ^^

In the middle of the convention area was an exhibit of some costumes worn in the past by cosplayers.
