Feigning Ethics

Ethics ( from Greek ἦθος "ethos" meaning "custom" ) is one of the five major branches of philosophy, which attempts to understand the nature of morality; to distinguish that which is right from that which is wrong.  (Wikipedia.org)

I have an Ethics subject this sem, and I can't seem to avoid arguing about morality that exist to tell us which is right from the reality that it judge "wrong".

I created a list out of the things that I have considered right and wrong through out my life from popping moments or reflection and rage.

1. Doing the right and helpful in the morning gives you an indescribable light feeling. But it doesn’t mean a good day ahead.

2. Being selfish puts you in a pedestal of regrets. It drags people along and creates guilt.

3. Prove your stupidity by attempting to fly without wings from a 15-story building as figurative language says:
“Free people have wings beneath them and fly to a sky they chose without hesitations.”

4. Maniacs are dirty creatures who hide their dark nature in human form. They all come to all shapes and sizes, but either way, they all must perish. They shall achieve death through decapitation of the head, next is the chopping of the limbs, get dumped in Ilog Pasig where they can rot as fast as the speed of light.

5. Timing is everything. So take your time and avoid contacts with hotheaded creatures like your mother in her monthly period. Or else…

6. Some things are better left unsaid. So shut up and eat rat.

7. Silence is powerful. Simple yet complexed.

8. All people are ugly. The ugly worships the beautiful. The beautiful despises the ugly. The ugly hates themselves.

9. Plastics rule the world because they hide behind masks. People chose to stay in the shadow because they are afraid of the plastics.

10. EMPERATRIS AKO. At hindi iyon magbabago.

Angal ka?

Proud...?

Last Tuesday, my poetry professor gave us an exercise. We have to compose a poem using the kinds of imagery that he had enumerated earlier. The remaining time was 15 minutes and we were all under time pressure.

As for me, I almost had a mental block, and I have to squeeze any remaining idea I have in my head for a decent poem to complete. Luckily, my hand started to move with my head…hmm…or is it the other way around? Anyway, I really thought what I did was crappy. The idea that I have in my head satisfied me, but my writing, I guess compared to my classmates, is really unimpressive—for me.

It’s Poetry subject again, today. The papers are expected to return marked with a score. The highest that we can earn is 10 (my last paper earned a 9), and I was honestly expecting a 6 below. Really, I’m not being humble here, that’s not in my nature.

Anyway, before Mr. Wigley (our really funny and talented prof) returned the papers, he said he’s going to read some of the poems that he really liked. Miguchi and me were having a small feud over his work and bet that his will be included there. Guess what? It was! Then…

Tentenennentenen!

Doll

Big rounded orbs, as black as ebony

Pierce through me, like an arrow

Released by a screaming

Mad prisoner

Luscious, blonde curls

Twist in grace

That I secretly reach out

But I retreat in vain

Her smile innocent and wondering

A façade that strips me naked

I hide

But I can never look back

To my eye-bulging surprise, mine was read next! I was giggling like a kikay, because I can’t help but feel proud. Later, I got ashamed of myself for thinking my work is crappy. Miguchi said I don’t believe in myself. Maybe I don’t. Maybe I will from now on. Wow. I just hope I’m not a “one-hit-wonder”.

Speaking of a one-hit-wonder person, Mr.Wigley asked the class for their perception of the Haiku poem we just read. Then, he said:

“Oh, yung mga naka-10 diyan, prove to the class you’re not a one hit wonder.”

Well, just my luck, Giron was called. I answered what I thought, in the simplest way that I can deliver verbally, for I have a history of senseless talk, whenever I try to explain something. He said it was OK, or… the “or” became a faint sound in my ears until my thoughts was gradually being pre-occupied with paranoia. I thought that he was saying something to not look at a poem literally, because it’s not what it always seem. So I thought he was pertaining to me! To get myself a grip, I asked Joanna to explain what he said after I recited, and she confirmed that Mr. Wiglley only gave another possible meaning to the Haiku poem, though mine is also correct.

The result of my paranoia almost caused me a paper. He asked us to do another exercise using figures of speech (I’m really weak at this). My mind was empty for words that will describe a claustrophobic person’s thoughts; I didn’t finish it. Crap.

Something to "WAAAH" and "Awww..." about

This is a really really late post. And I mean that. This should've made it Sunday last week but something came up and I couldn't post it. Oh well, just let me do this...

♥♥♥♥♥

WAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!

ARASHI was on Shounen Club today!!! (Episode Date: 07.02.06)

I was really surprised to see them perform there, since they have graduated so long ago, and it's always nice to see your favorite group on your TV. Waiii!!! I've been waiting for such a long time for them to perform there, and I almost gave up the idea, knowing they have their own company and they are so busy. And there they are when I least expect it! Actually, it was sort of a surprise for everybody there, yes, even the hosts and J.J boys, because they were in the middle of a segment, when a message came and the camera switched to the stage from the corner, taking up the curtain and revealing the 5 hot boys in black suits!!! EEEEK! Jun is sooooo handsome! Oh my honey is always dashing in any clothes! Heheh... As always, Sho kills with his simple raps and the hat...oh I like the hat. It made him look a lot hotter, apart from his usual smart and rich look. Aiba will be Aiba. He still looks funny, even when performing. Waaaiii!!! OHNO IS SO KAWAIII!!! I'm so glad his face is still stuffy as ever! He's quite old now, but he looks the youngest of them! Yes, he looks younger than Nino. Nino is still honsome, poker-faced, but ohhh... he's a good dancer too! I want to see him perform solo with his acoustic guitar or piano. God, the "Pika~inchi Double" piano version by him, almost gave me a heart attack! It was really really pretty~~~ How can a guy be so talented?! I have yet to see him act, I will surely buy "Stand Up!" no matter what! When I saw them walking forward to the front of the stage, I wasn't sure who they were, until I saw the kanji character for ARASHI, and I was in a total fan-girl mode. EEEKKK!!! I dashed to my bag to grab mg digi-cam and took pictures of the TV screen and recorded two short clips of the performance, while screaming and squeeking from total happiness. ^_____________________^V. I totally miss ARASHI. I think that was a new single, though I don't know the title, and it wasn't catchy enough for me, I'll surely hunt for the song. Nyehehehehe... It was great to see them back from where they started, and I'd be so glad if I ever discover that they performed that first in Shonen-club. Well, because it would show their appreciation for the company that gave them their name and placed them where they are today. That would be so touching...awww... it's nice to see them back. XD

It's making me laugh everytime my mind slips back to how I went gaga the minute I knew it was them. My little brother gave me strage looks and all he could say was: "Aysus!"

Gyaaahhh...hihihi....

Here are the pictures that I was talking about, really, you can kill me for making them look so crappy, but hey, their visible anyways!

ARASHI on Shounen Club 07.02.06  - Kitto Daijoubu

Then....this is new! Yesterday, ARASHI performed on Shounen Club! Eeeeehhh!!!! It was really unexpected! And I was wondering why they have to perform Wish when it's already an old single (when I mean "old", it's a couple of months since it debuted on air)? Oh well! As long as they are there! of course, the picture fandom continous!

Manikang Papel

Maalaala Mo Kaya has always been a great show that portrays the life of simple people with simple stories, in an extra ordinary way. Somehow, such a simple and usual story always become so touching and the impact is one to remember.

Mao told me about this week’s episode would feature Jiro Manio and Carlos Aquino as brothers. Jiro is gay and Carlo is his older brother. Besides the fact that I was hyped because a gay character will be on the spotlight, I was anxious to see two of the best child stars of TV in one drama show. Carlo has always been a superb actor, no wonder he won a Best Child Actor award in Bata Bata Pano Ka Ginawa? And made the lines: “Akala mo lang wala, pero meron! Meron! Meron!” immortal. Jiro is no exception. I personally think that he is the next Carlo Aquino! He won a grand slam award as Magnifico in the internationally acclaimed film, written by Michiko Yamamoto (Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros, Mga Angel na Walang Langit), Magnifico. He’s now known across the country, and even globally. He is a promising actor; I just wish they gave him more projects.

Thank you for that anonymous kind soul who uploaded this picture on the web available for me to use. ^^V Salamat po!

Anyway, last night was a really sweet story of self-sacrifice for your family. Dodong and his older brother have suffered strong beating by their father ever since their mother has moved away. Although their father now has a new wife and daughter, his treatment remained. Through selling balot and sampaguita in the near-by plaza, the brothers support their schooling. Things remained the same until they grew up and decided to detach themselves from their father. Starting their new life away, they soon found out terrible news that ended his father in jail. After 5 months, he was released but an anonymous man shot him out of nowhere, just when the man has come to his senses and asked for another chance. After their stepmother moved back to the province, their former house was to them. Dodong was happy to be back but his brother who has hold a grudge for his father, didn’t approve of staying in a house, which hold their darkest memories. The brothers separated ways until they were reunited to Dodong’s surprise. His brother turned crazy, still harboring the memories of their father’s beating and desperate begging to protect him. Putting his brother in a Mental Hospital was painful but Dodong knows it’s the right thing. In order to continue the medication needed to his brother, he ventured into the business of prostitution. Tears would well up in his eyes after each miserable sex with a costumer. In a year, his brother was cured and released from the hospital. Guilt flooded his brother’s feeling after discovering what Dodong has to go through to help him. But he promised to stop and start and new life with him in his side; his protector and only family.

It was really sweet. I don’t know how many times I said “Awwww…” every time I would see the brothers being sweet with each other. Okay, I have to admit I wanted to pair those two pretty boys, but I restrained myself because it would ruin the essence of the story. It’s just that when Jiro places his head on Carlo’s shoulder and in return embrace him gently or when Jiro smiles ever so innocently to Carlo and the man would stare at him…gosh…the…okay. Stop me. Even the younger versions of them shared sweet moments.

Really really sweet. ^^V

Nani yuuten nen boke?!

Since when did watching news become so stressful for me I felt like vomiting blood every time the president’s mole would flash on screen?

There is definitely something WRONG in this country. As much as I want to be nationalistic, certain factors will make you a bastard and leave for a better life outside of this bolthole.

Urgh.

I know I should be wiser and be more aware of what’s happening around me by reading the newspaper or being updated on current events shit, instead of always facing the pc monitor.

Well, no.

I am very well aware that we are financially unstable right now and I can’t afford anti-depressants. I’ll simply let events unfold before my eyes. It’s not like my rants can make much of a difference anyway.

After weeks of no update, this crappy little post strains your precious eyes.
Poor you.

Ozine '06

Le Pavillion, Roxas Boulevard.

Rain.

Otakus.

Black.

Legs.

NeOtaku.

Costumes.

Fan-service.

Curtains.

O-zine.

Well, if that’s enough to tell a whole story, then I’d be a lot gladder.

But don’t worry, my dearly, lovely readers, because I feel a deep responsibility of tracing the events that took place at yesterday’s convention for those who wasn’t able to attend it. But I’m going to apologize in advance for the lack of details.

Mao and I met at around 10 in the morning, battling the threats of future rain attacks. We’ve resolved the problem of getting lost around Roxas Boulevard, all thanks to her mom for telling us the directions and helpful landmarks to spot the place.

Walking from Kalayaan to Guadalupe sort of made me sweat, but the cold moist air and fast speed inside the ordinary bus made up for it. It didn’t took that long till we got to the place. We even bumped to some of Mao’s CFAD friends.

The site of the venue is pretty relaxing. Such a quiet place, with a really big space and lots of big trees and plants made me feel I’m walking in a resort. I wasn’t surprised to see people lined-up for entrance. Even that early, we’ve spotted some really cool cosplayers. I think that was the Angel Sanctuary group. There was a little confusion with the lines but we got inside hassle-free.

The air-condition inside was as it’s best performance. Burrrring cold! Good-thing I brought along my long-sleeved polo. Safe! Looking around a little, Aya (the girl who cosplayed  Hawatari Satoshi of DNAngel last Yaoi con) greeted us. I think Mao and her have gotten along pretty well since last Toy Con, so they weren’t strangers anymore. I was introduced, okray a little, gave some strange and maniacal giggles about random things until we’re off to roam around the place. I was really hoping to take home some nice and yummy yaoi anime, but unfortunately, I wasn’t graced with any luck. Though I did saw some yaoi series…if they weren’t so expensive, I’d but them all! There was a stall that sold VCDs for 10 to 20 php, but I only bought two CDs of Daria. I missed watching this show (although it’s not an anime)! It could’ve been really good dead, if only the items weren’t so disorganized! Oh well, I guess there’s a challenge in it. The owner must’ve thought on how to get back with the costumers for selling his CDs for such a low prize. Effort, man. Effort. After a while of squeezing myself and struggling to find a good title, I gave up. While my two friends scanned the CDs, I was munching on the free bread munch beside me. Nyihihihi…oiishiii!

I paid for the Daria and met Sakura (the girl who cosplayed Niwa Daisuke of DNAngel last Yaoi con). Later, the three of us (Mao, Aya and Me) went out for a while to eat. The damn weather was really being a bitch and almost drenches us like papers! After finding ourselves in a dead-end because of Yuna’s stupid sense of direction, we made a detour towards Mall of Asia. We ate at Jollibee in a food chain near Petron.

When we came back, me and Mao was introduced to some of Aya’s friends, Rui and Setsuna, and was in their company until we went home. Since we settled in the cosplay area, with the big and tall curtains behind us that were really helpful for making us look like dorks at play or just hiding “civilians” (non-cosplayer, as I termed), I didn’t mind not being able to watch the catwalk of the cosplay contestants. They we’re all over the place in our area anyway! I think I jumped off my spot when I heard NEOtaku.

 neo

Waaaa…I can just kiss them one by one or praise them, hands down and bended knees. They are that GREAT! I think my fellow fans will agree that they should produce an album. Hehehe…

Unfortunately, there weren’t so much yaoi going on, but if only you’ll look closely around, there are the “slashy” ones and the “fan-service” types. All thanks to the “Purple Boyz” and Yuffy for their enthusiastic selves!

123

Around 7, we bid our newfound friends bye and contemplated on today’s con. I saw a pretty cute spot for a mini photo shoot so…there.

If only those fucking low-lives will leave me alone and stop calling me “punk” because of my get-up. Don’t they have anything better to do than label people with “rocker” or “punk” as if those are the only words that exist in their vocabulary?! They even say it so passionately I felt like puking in their face and slapping them with my platform shoes. Let’s see if they’ll still continue with the non-sense. Hah!

*sigh*

Okay, enough of those rage spits, let's spam some pictures!

Cosplayers

Since there's the National Cosplay Competition that day, let's give them the spotlight first.
