GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.... I'm effin tired, but I want to post this entry atleast before I sleep away with pleasurable memories of men...and men...and more men...together...loving...nyahahaha!!!
No, this will not be a con report, because I'm too tired to make it formal. And I'm sure I've forgotten too many details to make this worth something. I'll make it up with the pictures atleast, ne?
05.27.06
I woke up earlier than usual. Maybe I was excited. How long has it been since my last convention? Months ago. And this is a Y-A-O-I con, do I have to explain further? Yes, homophobes and anti-yaoi men, such a convention exist, and we are many...MANY. Hahahaha!!!
Again (you're off topic again, baka!), I woke up at 10 o'clock to watch Guys and Gals at Arirang and to remind my oniichan early about the digicam. He used it when he went to Puerto Galera (suwerte ng ungas na 'to!) last week, and I've been bugging him for three days to bring it here because I always take pictures at conventions. I've groomed myself and fed my grudging pets deep down in the pits of my stomach and I only waited for my oniichan to arrive. I've been in a total yaoi mode for a week so I scanned through Haru wo Daitteita for a while, then he arrived and I went my merry way to 7-11 to meet Mao.
Since me and Mao always make an effort to be thrifty with money, we walked to Guadalupe from Kalayaan under the burning heat of the sun. I don't know what was the temperature was this afternoon, but it's enough to cause sunburn. I was planning on wearing my favorite hooded shirt and long stripped socks, but I've figured it would be too hot so I went out with a more "summer" look. We headed to the MRT station and while Mao bought tickets, I withdraw some money from the ATM. Another walkaton from GMA Kamuning Station to Centro Plaza Condomenium. Since we weren't familiar with the place we got lost along the way, and I tell you, it was a loooooong walk and it was fuckin' hot out there! It was 2 in the afternoon, what do we expect!
Through asking for directions, we got there safely, totally human still, but I was thirsty as a dog! I was sweating like a pig so we went to the bathroom before we entered the convention venue. After buying our passes, I was suprised at how small the place was, I think Crisanta Towers was bigger where Kinjo was held before, but it was okay. There's an LCD projector, laptops everywhere, trading area, and a manga and doujinshi stall, courtesy of Red Threads. The trading was free for Lights Out members but they needed the requests a week before the event, unfortunately for me I knew about it on the exact deadline date. So, no yaoi CDs for me this time. We sat at the corner and watched this anime full of gag, gays, insects and animals that talks, and a whole lot of fun! I forgot the title, something like...Pu..pu...errr. Memory gap! yes! PAPUWA! Around that time, I spotted Aubrey at the corner. She was alone so I asked her to come our place. I returned her Tokyo Babylon and my dorama back to me. She also lended me Kimi was Petto and Hana Yori Dango dorama so Jun love for the following week! EEEEEEYYYYYEEEEYYYY!!!! Domo poh!
I think after the anime, a discussion was opened by one of the hosts. This year's con theme is: Animes and manga titles that became TOO GAY. Meaning, it's too overated and slashable. Not only because of the characters themselves, but their relationship with other guys, their mannerism and actions, or there's just too many hints and cliche situations going on. For me, I don't know what anime is TOO Gay for me, maybe "Papa To Kiss in the Dark"? Heheeh... I'm not sure. It's too gay for my taste.
Prince of Tennis was shown next but I didn't bother because I didn't want to be spoiled of what's the ending. I think that was the National Tournament, so I'm guessing it's the concluding episodes. I still have 118 (episodes) to watch and enjoy and spoiling will not help my craving. Gyar. Mao and I went to the Doujin Library to borrow something. Since most of the doujinshis there are japanese, I borrowed Eeerie Queerie instead which is translated in English (TOKYOPOP). I sat down and tried my best to read and finish the volume but screaming fan-girls of PoT whenever the famous pairings appear and exchange "yaoish" words with each other, the power was unbeatable. I just browsed the pages and returned the book immediately. After drinking juice, we went out for a while since Initial D followed anyway. I don't watch the anime in Animax because the dubbing is CRAP. Destroyed the whole anime. So I don't know what's yaoish in there.
We went in after a short photoshoot, Mao as my model. Initial D wasn't finish yet so we grabbed food first. I saw Nanz with some of her friends, and of course exchange the usual talks and "kamustahan". I miss this girl, she's really fun talking to. We went back to our spot, on the floor with Aubrey, and another discussion followed.
The topic this time is about: FANDOM. I'm not quite sure what's fandom, but relatiing it to myself, it's obsessing yourself with one anime title, doing searches and downloads for that particular anime, affliating yourself with other communities building the name of that anime or manga title, pairing, doujinshi, etc. Just doing everything a fan would do for the anime/manga they admire. One of the host's question goes like: "Does a Fandom die? Is there such a thing as Fandom death?" For me, it's No. None. Because even if one member of that fandom pulls out of the 'fandom zone' somebody will still be there to continue and patronize it.
I think next was the showing of Ouran High School Host Club. GYYYYAAAAAHHH!!!! I so like this anime!!! There's so many bishies around and there's so much yaoi going on! And of course, the gag is the magic element. My adrenallin just dropped suddenly when I found out that the heroin is only disguising as a boy, but she's actually a girl. Awww... I'd really want this series, but Aubrey said it's still on-going in Japan, so reliable fan-subs of past and latest episodes are only availble on the web for download of the moment. At the end of 2nd episode, I really needed to pee so we dashed to the CR. After the relief, I saw the two cute girls who were cosplaying DNAngels. They were really cute so I guess cosplaying as cute guys wasn't too much of an effort for them. It suited them actually. And they were friendly too. When I told Mao that they were (they were beside me) cosplaying DNAngel, they also noticed Mao's hair and said that she can cosplay Hiro of Gravitation and even asked to take a picture of her. Of course my little histrionic psycho ecchi bestfriend was all smiles, ne? One of the girls looked like one of my former guy classmate in highschool.
We went in to finish the anime then Aubrey had to say goodbye early because it's her sister's birthday today, also. I think the: "Beat Sephirot" contest followed then the cosplay? Gyah. Damn crappy memory of mine. The cosplay was short, they only posed there. I thought it would be like the usual: "number __ is ___!" and skit. No, they just posed for pics. The DNAngel girls weren't there in the line-up so we went to them and asked for their picture instead. Great!!! Nice pose! The cosplay line up were mostly Loveless characters then a Gravitation also appeared. Uhm. Yeah. I just haven't seen the perfect Yuki Eiri cosplayer, yet. The cosplay ended the con but a really really provoking scene was provided by some guys there so I jumped in and stole some "memories". Yeyyyyy!!!
The rain started pouring outside, but we decided to get going anyway. Since we had no umbrella, we were soaking wet until we got to the MRT station. I was imagining that we'll get stranded somehow in that station, and boy was I right! Some technical problems occured so we waited almost an hour for the train to arrive. While waiting, we entertained ourselves by singing "Old Mcdonlad Yaoi Song", chatting and taking advantage of the almost empty place of the MRT station, photoshoot again! Around 9, the train arrived. We walked home and here I am.
Tired. Gyar. My eyes is only half open now, I think I really need to rest.
Leaving you with the pics! Enjoy!!!

The Lights Out banner, It was posted outside the condo so we were happy to see that we arrived at the right place.
As expected, there are alot of girls flooding around. Most fans of Yaoi are girls, so expect them to be present in conventions like these. Ready to scream and gigle at the sight of two bishies doing the unthinkable. (Gomen if it's kinda blurred. My hand was shaking that time.)
The hosts of the convention. Possibly they are moderators of the ML and Forum of LO too and events organizers. The pioneers of yaoi history 101. The ones we owe alot for making such a convention possible. DOMO!

This is the DOUJINSHIS that I mentioned about that was inside the Doujin Library. Not of all of them are yaoi doujinshi, some were artbooks of various animes like Rurouni Kenshin, some where graphic novels like Neil Gaiman's Sandman. Most of them were japanese, but some manga were the US licensed type like Eerie Queerie. Beside the table of the books were laptops where you can view some manga scans. Of course to make the distribution of the items fairly for con members, each borrower was given a limited time of 30 minutes or 1 hour i think each.

Ouran High School Host Club, one of the most enjoyable that I've watched there. Full of bishies in uniform eh? The brown haired in the middle is the main character whom is a girl.

These were the cosplay line-up in front. The first pic is a Gravitation cosplay, beside them is...I don't know. The second pic are Loveless cosplayers.

The two kawaii girls as DNAngels characters. Pretty convincing, eh?

KONTROBERSIYAL!
I'm sort of hesitant to post these pics here, but since they acted out in front knowing we'd be taking pictures of them in thos positions, I guess it's okay. Made my day complate! This is a YAOI con after all, it wouldn't be complate without some live yaoi fun with the resident boys, ne? ^_~
