Only The Ring Finger Knows

♥♥♥;♥♥

Only The Ring Finger Knows has got to be one of the most romantic, touching and "kilig" ever, shounen-ai manga i've read. Of course all thanks and hugs and kisses to Ate Aubrey for lending it to me and later on giving it as a x-mas gift. Awww...sobrang thank you talaga! i love it!

Later on I found out that the story of Kazuki and Wataru continues as a novel and there's been an on going petition to sell the novel overseas. Granted! I just saw a copy of the first novel The Lonely Finger in Comic Quest. Guess how much it is? Since there was a 10% discount and it's being sold for 600 php, please do the math for the regular price, eh? That expensive. I thought it would be around 300 php like the novels sold in book stores. It's as expensive as other DMP mangas!

Oh well, to give you a background on the manga and the novels, here they are. Credits to the DMP site for the pictures and information. Visit the site for more yaoi titles.

At Wataru Fujii's high school, it's all the rage to wear paired rings with the girl you love. Wataru wears one though he is single, and one day inadvertently discovers that his ring pairs up with that of tall, handsome and smart Yuichi Kazuki, the senior classman idolized by the entire school. Though Kazuki has a reputation for being kind to all, when dealing with Wataru, he is strangely harsh. Their paired rings somehow draw them together and the two alternately clash and attract, as they must sort out their budding feelings for each other.

[The Lonely Finger] #1

Not only is Yuichi the most mysterious, sought-after guy at school, he's got an excellent shot at getting into any prestigious University...and no one knows this better than his secret love, Wataru. But instead of a vacation break spent celebrating beneath the fragrant sway of summer blossoms, both boys must surrender to Yuichi's grueling study schedule. How can they possibly sweeten the deal? A bet that promises to take their young relationship to the next level is in the works, but Wataru complicates matters when the very ring that symbolizes their precious bond goes missing. Prying girls and wisecracking best friends only fuel the flames of gossip, and soon the small white lies that were only meant to protect the heart of Wataru's beloved become poison arrows. With the test and their relationship on the line, can the boys hold on long enough to survive the sticky meltdown of their longest summer.

Tender longing and young curiosity unite in The Lonely Ring Finger. Follow the cycle of a teasing friendship that takes a serious turn and spirals into an intense romance. The ring on each boy's finger is a symbol of two hearts that beat together despite the prying eyes of classmates... and this is one couple who must weather a storm of scrutiny to discover if their love is truly meant to last.

The Destroyer

My cousin once gave me this title. She said i was TOO GOOD at destroying things.
Heh, what can I say, I'm a natural.
Bluffft.

As much as I hate it, this is true. I mess up things most of the time.
My mom showed to me our Nikon proffesional cam she kept from me and I took fancy of it. After 10 minutes, I accidentaly locked the shutter. Isn't that amazing. And that's because I was so amazed and frenzied over the damn thing I was pushing every button I see on it. crap. Now I have to pay someone to fix it.

Now I just said a few post back that I had my 80G HD running now, didn't I? Blew it. Figuratively. Well, the java script was deactivated, my virus scan is sucking every patience nerve I have, user accounts wouldn't work and alot more is fucked up. Shit. I feel as if the PC is craving for another reformat.

But I'm not craving for it. shit. Why do I have to be so damn nosy about these things and later I mess up?! Am I stupid? No...I'm not. Just careless. Heh...

The fact that my PC is being fixed for free is another reason for me to back out on fixing this again. Kapal naman ng mukha ko noh.... Then another round of 50php for the tricyle rides and major shoulder pains again. No. No. No.

gyaaaahhhh.... I want my old system back!!!
T_T

Currently: hunting for more Johnny Jr. boys yaoi moments.

who would've thought these kids are doing these?! OH I LOVE THEM!

Drag Divas, A Showdown and a Stand

Diva-ding 2006

Fiesta month again; so is here in Pitogo . Mao informed me a while back ago, that in our baranggay, there is a certain "gay pageant". I wasn't able to watch the year when a contestant's answer to the judge's question is:

"kung ang kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan,

ang mga bakla ang pag-asa ng kalalakihan!"

and the year after. I'm not on vacation anywhere, this summer so I anticipated for it. Yesterday, I got the news that the contest is on. Hah! Grabbed my digi-cam and my big big excited self, but unfortunately, it wasn't that entertaining. Instead of a pageant, they replaced it with a singing contest, thus the title of Diva-ding 2006. Anyways, there was some amusing performances by the guests and ALOT of gay teens EVERYWHERE. I even met a potential Maximo Oliveros. His name is KEN.

Anyways, pic spam! I'm terribly sorry for the UBER CRAPPY quality of the pictures. The Place was dimly litted and for the "bubbles", i don't know where the hell they came from. The place was really dusty, maybe that's it.

The Hosts

They are brothers, err, sisters. Roger (the one wearing an off-shoulder top, if you can see. T_T), is really pretty. Mao commented he looks like a European, and I deffinitely agree.

The Guest Performers

I like them better than the contestants.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

This number made me laugh...quietly. A bunch of old, fat ladies in polkadotted, backless tops, dancing. It's not an eye-swor to watch, it's just that while I was viewing their performace, I can't help but imagine my mom and aging lola, doing the same thing on stage!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Hehe... kuya...wag poh...wag poh.... That's her music, alright. Oh, did I just said, 'her'? My mistake! Another drag in performance level. He's really entertaining! Although his stage performances were a little R-rated, I guess the people appreciated and enjoyed it enough to let it through till the end. Infairness naman sa kanya ha! Ang kinis ng baklang yun!

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting

Great, great impersonator. Well, although, I wasn't so happy with his lip-synching (or is that lip-singing?), he was good enough with his facial expressions.

The Contestants
Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
#1 I enjoyed her performance the most. Complete with the blue long gown, make-up and big curly hair. She sang Mariah Carrey's Through the Rain.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
#2 Okay lang... Chubby and cute. He sang Nina's Love Move in Mysterious Ways.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
#3 Plain looking. A plain looking girl. A plain looking gay. Eh? He's gay but almost looks like a lady only he looks plain. Yeah, whatever. He was so dull I forgot what song he sang...

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
#4 Oh...this one is a beauty! Really. I even like his gown...so ORANGE! Hehe... His performance was cut in the middle when the lights on the stage suddenly went out, but hsr poise remainded and carried on. He sang Regine Velasquez's Shine.

#5  I wasn't able to take his picture because my camera's battery died when he came on stage. By the way, he's the champion. Awww... Para sa magtatanong kung anong istura niya. Okay lang, para nga lang siyang may landingan ng eroplano sa ulo. Gets?

Bonus!

Mwhehehe...it was a gay show after all!

Karaoke Showdown Round 2!

gyaaaahhh....she won! Damn it! My plan backfired on me! Grrr...rematch!

My Stand as a Catholic

I've been watching Secret Bible Week in National Geographic channel and I must say this got me quite interested. It started Sunday, i think until tomorrow. So far the episodes were:

The Gospel of Judas
Jesus' Rivals
The Knights Templars
Unlocking Da Vinci's Code I
Unlocking Da Vinci's Code II

All these fuss about religion suddenly surfaced after so many years because one book, Dan Brown's Da Vinci's Code. The book was surely a good read, I felt like I was reading an action movie! This made me admire the author and his extensive research and brave exposures of such a sensitive and untalked about issue. The truth about Mary Magdalene and Jesus' true relationship. Whether they were married and had children and if Mary Magdalene IS the holy grail.

Well, let me just say my opinio about this issue. I'm going to say my stand about Jesus being married. I don't think it's bad or would affect my faith in Him as mankind's savior. Marriage is a Sacrament and Jesus is Human. How natural it is for him to love a woman, get married and have a family. I think with this statement I am being too shallow. But no. I purely think that every person has the right to have a family, and even Jesus, if ever the issue is definite. There's ALOT of reasons why this "truth" is being blocked and argumented. If this is true, then why has it been supprressed until now? What does the Vatican fear? Will it shatter away our faith? Only time will know...

Ranting

I found this show on MTV, while waiting for Aldred and Mikki's interview on PBB update. It's about Hollywood stars' hairstyles. From the wacky, to the big, seemingly alien-like or just the ordinary hair. I just don't get it why these "proffessionals" and "stylists" are always exaggrating about small things, like the HAIR. Okay, so let us say these are big time celebrities and they have a name to protect, but should changing hairstyles that seems not fitting for these "proffesionals" be the end of your career? For example, Jennifer Lopez suddenly wants to have really really short hair and one of the "stylists" expresses her dismay as:

"It was the darkest 3 hours of my life."

It's like these people doesn't have anything better to do than bash other people who wants to have a change for once in a while. Such melodramatics should get a slap in the face. As if they are pretty themselves! What if Julia Roberts doesn't want to be the "Pretty Lady" anymore and wants to go a little rough with her image, will she shatter a person's life? It's like when a celebrity doesn't suit her or his hair with them, they should grab a gun and blast their head to pieces.

I got irritated and switch channels.
Guess what? I missed the interview.
Leche.

 ***

I was able to watch a late replay of the anual MTV Asia Awards. As usual, the hosts still doesn't jive with each other (Asian and black just doesn't go well), which are Taiwanese singer, Wang Lee Hom and Kelly Rowland. The show was almost at end so I don't know the details much. I just don't get it why when it comes to the Video of the Year award, the nominees are always from America. Isn't it, ASIA awards? Okay, maybe I'm sounding really biased here and I know that the American artists have a really big impact on the Asian market, but I hope they give more priority to the Asian artists. And since the Video of the Year award is the biggest award of the show, it's like saying, the Americans are still superior to the Asians. That sucks.

Anyways, the last performance is from Kang-ta and Vaness Wu. No, not on seperate performances, but TOGETHER as in DUO. Well, the chereography, stage impact and screams from the audience are proof enough that they are "giants", as Lee Hom commented. I just have a problem, their live singing is really baaaad. I almost didn't get the tone of the song! And Vaness singing in Korean! Haha! Well, not so bad. Nice try, guys.

Oh yeah, Kang-ta is still hot!

S L U M P Y

A few days back, I experienced getting rejected for a job, two times in a row in one day. If that isn't stressful enough, I had to wait for hours for a friend of mine, hoping she passes the final interview, but no. Bad day for the both of us.

In the first place, I didn't want to move on with the plan and applying part time when it's May already. My mom had been telling me over and over again that no company would accept us at this late date, if summer job is what I'm after. I kind of guessed that, but I was pushing my luck. It doesn't hurt to try and I didn't want the opportunity to pass by giving up without a fight. And heck, I had 3 bio-datas to spare. I can't use them next year anyway. I still have one left here, I'm still making up my mind whether I should check with my bestfriend's workplace. He said they're allowing part-timers.

Hmmm... But for the meanwhile, I'm back to good'ol Miyuchi routines. PC-Sleep-Eat-TV-PC-TV-Eat-TV-PC-Sleep. I'm getting chubbier by the days! Gyaaaahhh!!! The "flubs" are hunting me!!!!! T_T I really really want to go on a diet...but my body isn't cooperating with me. An area of my brain is even blocking the idea, damn it!

It's weird when parents start discussing sex with their children. But's it's more bazaar when the children are more informed about sex than their parents! Well, my mom is pretty open about these things, she knows I'm smart and mature enough to be open about "sensitive" issues like these, with her. Although, I already know alot about it, I really appreciated my mom educating me about it. It's a part of a parent's job afterall.

Yesterday I explored my Axialis Icon Workshop Pro. It was fun to use! Haha! Made my ARASHI icons, since they have the most folders and subfolders here. I also downloaded alot of Photoshop Brushes! I so love my japanese and kawaii stamps!

I was browsing the TV channels earlier, while waiting for Wonderful Life to air, when I spotted this young guy playing the piano. I though it was another of the Arirang specials. That channel has a wide interest in classical, opera and orchastraic performances (as I often see it being shown). At first I didn't paid attention and switched to Living Asia Channel because I spotted some Japanese robots/toys being featured, then I switched back to Arirang. I found the piece the pianist played nice, and I tunned in for 3 more pieces. The pianist is Yurima. He's Korean, and that was his piano concert. According to the brieft information about him that was flashing below on the TV screen, he started playing the piano at age 5 then later (maybe when he was older), he went to London Music School. I don't know how old he is now, but what I can say is, he is really talented! I just love the 3 pieces he played! Namely: Love Me, The River Flows and Do you. They are all sweet music in the ears, and I felt like crying when he played "Love Me". I don't know what it is with me and melow piano pieces... it always moves me. If anyone knows the title of the piece Gackt played in his Moon Concert, please tell me. I so love that! I even use it as my lulluby. So beautiful. I've always admired people who can play the piano. Because I wanted to learn it myself. My mom told me that it's better to learn playing the instrument younger, because your finger bones are much softer. I don't know how true this is, but one thing is for sure...I'm going to learn to play it before I die! So,if anybody knows where I can download Yurima's music, please inform me. Thank you!

I'm still stuck in my mind thoughts...

I'm still unsure of my chosen career. I don't know if I should continue Lit. I don't know if this is the right course for me. I don't want to waste my time and parents' money if I'm not so sure anyway. I'm thinking of applying for a scholarship in Japan, sponsored by the Japanese Embassy here. I don't know what luck I'll have, if ever I'll be granted the opportunity, but i'll surely grab it! Going to Japan has always been a distant dream for me, and now I want to realize it. Of course I'm not assuming i'll pass it so easily, but praying might help and a ton of guts will do, I guess. I think I'll enjoy living and studying there. I know I will. The problem lies on my family. I know they will never allow it. But persuading is one thing I know I'm good at. Arguing is my weakness. Now that is problem... gyahhh... I don't know what to do with my life anymore!!!

Sorry if that is way too random. I didn't even bother giving a title for each topic. Oh well... onto more downloads. Ja minna~

ARASHI-ness

wahahaha!!!!

I was able to load the subs for my Utaban_2003-02-20_Talk_-_Arashi_Super_Idol video.
When I first downloaded this clip, I thought it was already subtitled, because it said "soft-subbed".
Stupid Miyuchi doesn't know the difference between soft-subbed and hard-subbed then, so please pardon her.
A month later, I visited Clubhouse Arashi and found the same video with a seperate file for the subtitles! I downloaded the subtitles but when I played it, it still wouldn't work. Just this night, I was able to make it work.

A lesson for me: The video and .srt (subs) has to be EXACTLY the same.

Gyaaah... I can be so dumb at these things.

Tabulas is being an ass so I'm updating here at LJ more often. I like using my new ARASHI avatars.
Okay, so I'm not as creative as the others out there, but I try my best. I love this ShoxNino av I made. Hehehe...

Yes, I'm really really into the whole J-pop thing. But I'm not abandoning J-rock yet. I still love the coolness of black and rock and crosses, ne? It's just that ARASHI is too adorable! I love them!
So if anyone has a concert or cds to sell, please contact me! ASAP!

Chow~

Improved?

I feel so lucky now that I have an older brother who is smarter than me in some aspects and that he can help me when I really really needed it.

And when my PC really needed it. Heheh... He reformatted my HD. Thanks Oniichan!

The user account, search engine, media player  and anti-virus are all working again! Yebah!

I always have midnight internet downloads because dial-up can be a major piss off in day time and most people are awake, so I download at midnight instead. Really fast. Well, if you can consider 4.4 kbp/s as the lowest speed then we can relate with each other. Since my PC is really old and my modem haven't been in the best condition lately, I'll be happy with this performance. Considering that sometimes it really drops below 1 kbp/s. I'm serious.

Speaking of downloads! I've found a really wonderful random mp3 uploads of Japanese songs. It's a blog and she turned it into an mp3 rotation site where she uploads the songs in megaupload and rapidshare, so the songs doesn't expire, exept if it hasn't been active for 30 days, I think. ALOT of Asian Kung-fu Generation, Orange Range,  and Do As Infinity, 3 of my favorite bands in Japan! Their music are not *that* pop-ish, like Morning Musume, so it's fine. I think I've always liked j-pop anyway, because I've been collecting anime themes way back. Maybe I'm really a newbie to rock music. All thanks to L'Arc~en~Ciel  and Dir en Grey. Awwww... I haven't heard of them lately. Is there a new single, atleast? I think DEG has one and my cousin has mentioned it before, but I haven't been a very good DEG-fan and gave the time to search for it. Laruku is in HAITUS again, I suppose...since the great Hyde is going solo again! Argh! Why can't he just stay in Laruku if he's going to be in a band anyway?! Yukkie, Ken and Tet-chan, can do SOOOO much better than them! Even if they say each members have their own solo projects promoting, the four of them together still makes L'Arc, L'Arc...

Sorry, but I'm going to rant about something again. I might be sounding a little too anti-Americans, but I just can't help myself muse about these things. And I can't help but rant and write my rant on the web where everyone can read it. I'm a little histro, sorry.

I went downstairs as I usually do at 3:30 A.M., because I'm going to watch That 70's Show. I really like the show and I can't watch it in the afternoon because my mom is watching Game KNB!? or I'm still asleep or in primetime, because WE are watching dramas. Yes, I'm a fan of Philippine soaps now. Even if some says it's baduy (including me), there is an addictive element in the shows...heh. ANYWAY, (getting off topic again!) I think Jack TV doesn't really air That 70's Show every Friday, because there was non. I decided to browse the channels and I found the Ambush Make-over show on ETC. I like it how they put make-ups and high-lights to those "fashion victims" they call. The transformation is really amazing, I must say. It's just sort of offending FOR ME, when this person comes up to you and tell you:

"Darling, please get rid of that *insert clothes or accessories here*. It just KIIIIILLLLSSSS meeeee. I BEG you."

Doesn't that also tells you, you're a one fugly woman in that dress, where have you been sleeping, 10 feet below the ground? Or are you a visitor from Mars?. And that is on national television! You know how influencial media is! Of course, the victim will agree to it because if she says no, she'll loose more face by declining a "free" offer and refusing to change her "unsuited" style. What if that is the person's personal statement of herself? Isn't that like, stepping on the freedom of choice and expression of that individual? We should respect that. And the part that particularly pissed me off in that show is when that overboard with enthusiasm (reminds me of SOMEONE) man that made the ambush ripped apart the shirt that the "victim" wore earlier. So that symbolized something for him, like, say goodbye to your old style and life, but what if that very shirt is REALLY important to her? I tell you, she should've knocked that guy over. He doesn't have the right to destroy the things of others even if they say it's for the better!>:O

Gosh...I'm ranting my ass off again. I need to sleep this off.

God Bless Mozilla Firefox

Halleluia!

I stopped using IE as my net browser after my PC got reformatted. I heard that Firefox is as popular as IE, and Akie said before that it's less prone to spywares.

And because Megaupload is being quite strict, they now require a Megaupload Toolbar which is being run by Alexa. It was great at first use, because it allows you to download the file without paying for a premium account, but after a few weeks of being installed in my PC, I ran my spyware programs, Spysweeper and Ad-aware, and almost begged me to remove the toolbar from my browser. I learned then that the application has a spyware itself. Dangerous for me.

I don't know what kind of magic Firefox has, but I've been downloading songs from MU today and it hasn't required any toolbar to be installed. Yeeeessss.... MWAAHAHAHAHA!!!!

*adikadikadikadik*

Blue Sky and Sunny Smiles

Even though it's been...*counts* 11 days since her birthday, I want to greet my long time friend of mine, a HAPPY HAPPY 18TH BIRTHDAY TO rose ann!!!

I had to use PINK because I think it's become her favorite color now...

Anyways, since she didn't have a party at home or any celebration for her birthday, it was her threat today! Yebah! My pocket money for today: 100 php.

As usual, the gang are being all tardy so instead of meeting 7-11 at 1:30 and going to the mall early, we got completed around 3 already! Tsk! Tsk! We're now in college, and we haven't changed that attitude we have about time... oh well! If we were the early birds today, it wouldn't be US I guess.

We occupied a whole FX (we were 11) on the way to G4 and Rose threated us again! Woppie! Well, she did ask us to atleast give her 5 php each, but I got through the inspection. Hehehe...

We went straight to the cinemas and decided between Poseidon or M.I.:III. I thought both were not so interesting and what's been clogging my mind that time was FOOD. I was hungry. I really wanted to eat and I even suggested to Rose that she just threats us to a heavy meal, pizza or whatsoever, instead of watching films that we're forcing ourselves to watch only to follow the plan. That sucks. Oh well, majority won and we bought the damn tickets anyway. I was even the one who had to buy it at the counter. Hmp.

Poseidon. Don't watch it. Rip off from Titanic. Actually, Titanic was ALOT better. Atleast it had a story. Poseidon opens with small talks, short scenes then the disaster followed. And the rest of the movie revolved around a few people striving their way out of flooding sea water, fires and electric shocks. Survival. Yeah, so we got what it was all about. Thrilling but that's all. Even the ending is too disappointing. Like, suddenly, there was a lifeboat floating nearby the are where they jumped from. Too unbelievable. Grrr...

Ray wasn't around yet so we ate dinner at KFC for the meantime and chatted while waiting for Mr. VIP. I'm not backstabbing him, he knows this. That costed me 52 php so 48 php was left of my money. They were planning on going to a KTV at Taft so I was a little uncertain about my budget.

Around 8, Ray arrived and since he was the one who told us about the place, we really have to be really patient with him. We walked for such a long time seeking for taxis but the line for it is too long to manage. Fortunately, we were able to hire an FX for a special price to our chosen destination. And even luckier for us, when I joked to Ray that he pay half of the FX fare, he agreed and paid for it, whole! I was just kidding so I thought he got a little offended by my words. Well, I guess not. He was still smiling at me on the way to our VIP Karaoke Room.

The place we went to is called Prominence. I don't know if that is a bar or really just a Karaoke place, but the deal is really nice. You only have to pay for your foods and the karaoke coins. Since we were in the VIP room, our coins costed 10 php each. I think they bought 32 pieces and I gave 20 php.

So now my money is only 28 php. If I was going to sing all night, I should atleast have a drink or something to munch on. Good thing, Kevinn threated me to a large pineapple drink. Now I remember that I still owe him some money before when he paid for me for our Taxi fare. Even though I get annoyed by this friend of mine sometimes since he's so maharot, he's a real gentleman. The snacks were shared by my pals so no problem to that. Nico and Ray offered me beer but I refused. I just can' stand the taste of beer! It's making me wonder why so many people love that stuff so much...

So there, a lot of singing, screaming and headbanging from 10:15- 12:45 A.M. My throat feels kind of sore now. We divided ourselves by two taxis since most of us live at Cembo and some around Kalayaan. I went with Mane, Jamjee, Dhenie and Kevinn on the way home. Kevinn didn't want us to pay him but we insisted anyway. It's too much for the guy. And he still has to take us (me and dhenie) home. It's the second time I owe this guy a favor. Thanks Kebs!

Gyaaahhh...I'm super tired now. I want to finish this post before I sleep so at this rate I'm kind of groggy that my english is sounding so crappy again. Soweee...T_T. But this is definitely a good day, thus, the title. I had so much fun with my friends and made me realize how much I missed them. From my 100 php budget, I still have 8 php left. pamasahe din yun! And Nico gave me the video they made as a gift for me for my birthday. And it's really well done. Gosh I'm so flattered!

Oh well. I'm doozing off to my comfy bed now.  But before that...pic spam!

 PEACE

Expectations

I knew it. Bad luck strucks after Good luck. I've mentioned it several times now in this journal, about the yin and yang of nature. Balance. It's only natural that this occurs, but you have to agree with me that it sucks sometimes, ne?

Well, you see... I bought the second season of Gokusen, hoping that it's as good as the first one. Although I've read numerous comments that it's a copy of the first dorama and the only thing that changed are the characters, I wanted to watch it myself, being a big fan of the firsty one.

I trusted 2rats (an anime store) that the copy of the 2nd Gokusen is as good as the first one that I bought from them too (the branch only differ), so I didn't bother on testing it. As good as the first one meaning, it has great subs and as clear in quality. The quality remained, DVD copy, so that's good. Unfortunately, the subs are TOO SMALL to read! 7 out of the 10 episodes, the subs remained that small. It didn't work with zooming the screen because the subs were positioned too low, so when I zoom it, the subs are not there anymore! The 8th to the last episode finally made up for it, but it didn't left me happy yet. The subs were finally readable, but at some part of the episodes, I think when the translator didn't understood what that character was saying, they just encoded it in 3 asterisk!

Like this:

Now, when you pay for something of course you would expect to get the most out of your money, and I felt soooooo betrayed for this. I swear I'm never gonna buy from that store I again! Grrrr... I know they just download the series that they sell just like most of us and they sell it for such a high price! If I had DSL before I even bought my Gokusen 1, I wouldn't have bought from them. But since I really wanted to have a copy of that show, I bought it! Besides, I still didn't that there are dealers out there that sells a longer list of titles in a much cheaper price! So what did I do about Gokusen 2?

I went back to the store and asked the girl that sold me the CD if they can replace the master copy for a better one. Since they are only downloading the show anyway, I'm sure they can find better fansubs in the internet! Then they could replace my copy. I even asked for the girl's number so I can text her to check on the progress of my request, and to save money on transporatation rides. As expected, she never replied. It took me a month to go back, so I assumed they've fixed it.

Last night I went there with the Gokusen 2 with me, but they said that the master copy is really like that. I don't know if that girl is just dumb or just dumb. Maybe she's dumb. You think she's dumb? I think so too! Did she even get what my point? My complaint? I don't even think she even did something about it! Gyaaaaa!!! And what pissed me the most is I can't choose from the anime they have because I'm not in the mood for animes nowadays, I still have a lot of anime to watch, as a matter of fact. They had Hana Yori Dango and GTO only as their other dorama, and it pissed me even more. Aubrey is lending me her copy of HYD next week, and ZynI r promised me a copy of GTO too! Oh well, since Zyn is really busy and I haven't seen her for so long and I think will take longer, I replaced my Gokusen with the GTO.

That really got me down. Since I couldn've got my GTO for free. Putang inang 2rats kasi yan, wala daw refund! Letche sila! T_T My 400 php flew away just like that....

On the brighter side, atleast GTO is better than Gokusen 2. Storywise and subs-wise! Grrr... It's really hard to trust people nowadays. You don't know if they are being friendly or they're just taking advantage of you beause you're naive.

Hmp!

A big big OMEDETOU  to Leo Oracion and Erwin "Pastour" Emata for reaching the highest peak in the whole world, Mt. Everest. They have marked the Philippines along with the world for this great achievement. Once again, congratulations. I hope they come back in the Philippines safe and sound.

End of story.

Yes, we are proud. The media mostly. They have something good and positive to bring to the people. Yeah. So what happens next? After being in the spotlight for a week, then what? I don't know how much of an impact the RP Team for the Everest expidition or Paquiao brings to the country, but I hope, the next time that I open the TV and watch some news, I can see big smiles from street children or hundreds of beggars thanking the government for their kind help in removing them from the cold nights they have to spend outside a shelter or because they feel so safe and secured that they can eat the next day. That these people of poverty who is in more need of attention will one day be saved from begging people for a coin to fill even a little for their stomachs' crave.

That would make such great news. In primetime, radio or tabloid and broadsheets. I'd feel even more proud that the Philippines has finally risen up, even not economically or from our historical debts, but from poverty that occupies a large part of our population chart.

Weirdo

Is that me, I'm reffering to?

I'm afraid so.

Today I met with my co-staffer from my former school because we have to follow up the progress of our yearbook. So far so good. All pictures have been scanned, the layout is finished, errors corrected and we leave the rest to the people of the publishing house . A final draft will be rechecked by us and we're all done! Hahahaha!!! Finally! Somehow, I miss being a staffer. You know, cramming for deadlines, brainstorming for ideas, running errands or going after interviews, gathering information and the hardest of all, managing a work group. Being in the position that requires a lot of patience and the spirit to lead your members.

*sigh*

Those were the fun and hard-working days...

ANYWAY! While taking a break from scanning pictures this afternoon and letting my other co-staffer take care of the rest, just out of the blue, I confessed that I give numbers and letters a gender.  I don't know when I first thought about it, but upto now, I still think the same. When I told this to them, they laughed at me and called me kakaiba. Hmm... I don't know if I should really be laughing about that...but I just do. They asked me how I categorize it and I said, I just know! Now that I think about it, is there someone out there who thinks the same way?

Oh well, here are the alphabet and  according to "gender":

Female:

A B K P Q R S  V Y Z

Male:

D E F G H J M N O T U W X

    Gay:

[you have to forgive me for this...i don't know how to describe them and the term
"gay" for me is like an alternative gender? a third gender. Of course this is atleast applying to my alphabet gender issue. Why these letters are in this category is because they seem "soft" but has the same "manly" feel to it. Gyaah...I'm just weird.]

 C I L

Now when it comes to numerals, I categorize them mainly from numbers 1 to 9. When the number becomes a double digit, the larger value of that number will determine it's "gender":

Female:

4 5 8 9

Male:

1 3 6 7

Gay:

 2

Okay now, before anyone flames me or hacks my blog because they feel that their favorite number is put to the wrong group, this is mainly what I feel. It's my preference and yes, you may call me crazy. That would be towtawweey owkeeey, ne?

On to other things, I'm so loving my GTO DVD!!!! Finally, I;ve uplifted myself from feeling my 400 has gone down the drain, however, like my GOKUSEN DVD, my money was worth it. GTO is one of the best dorama I have ever watched. Being Gokusen as one of my favorite dorama, it's hard for me to say that, yes, GTO is ALOT better than Gokusen when it comes to story. It's deeper and the problems of the students being tackled are really alarming for the audiences. Gokusen is lighter and more comical. But GTO is also funny but not to the point that it's as funny as the anime version. As I said from my Gokusen special, each dorama has something different to offer. In this case, I reccommend BOTH.

Waaah!!! I need an installer of Microsoft Office XP!!! I can't start with my layout without the help of Frontpage! EEEEEK! I'm dumb at HTML! Gyar! >

Awesome~

Yatta! Yatta! Yatta!

I'm finished with my GTO Marathon! After watching the whole live-action series, I followed it with the special and movie, to keep the GTO spirit coming! MWAHAHAH!!! And today, I have officially completed it. Although I got an annoying backpain from watching the movie in my PC because all my attempts to convert it to VCD (from .avi) all died in vain. I've been working on that since last night, and I gave up today...well, it was worth it anyway.

sigh

Great Teacher Onizuka has got to be one of the best anime ever made. The story reflected the problems of students, teachers and academic systems that has some defects in it. It provided a lot of laughs and tear-jerker scenes as well. I don't know how many times I've cried watching it, some episodes are just too effin touching!

I'm still deciding if I will make a "special" post for GTO like I did with Gokusen.

Okay! On a more recent event!

Mamoy and I were watching MASTERMIND: The Magic of Erik Mana at ABS-CBN a while ago and man was I amazed at his magic! I don't know if that was only a coincidence, well that coincidence is kinda freaky! Okay, first of all Erik Mana is like David Blane. They are both fantastic magicians and they both do street magic. They both have incredible mind power and their style is almost the same. I just don't know if Erik Mana has tried the stunts David Blane has done before, but, well he doesn't have to go that far.

Okay, so here goes the magic he did to me. In the next sentences, I'll us the word "me" to refer to his audience. Of course, he asked all people who was watching the show to do the same, so since I was the one doing it, I'll pretend I'm the only one doing it.

He asked "me" to randomly select 9 cards and gather them together. Then, he asked one of his guests to pick one card from him. The girl got a 3 (I forgot what sign) and asked me if I have a 3... I did. Then he asked me to pick the 3rd card from the right and he said it's got to be a 3...and it did. My 3rd card from the right is a 3 of diamonds. Then he asked me do a number of shuffling (I won't narrate all the instructions because I forgot them already...what I can remember is a lot of shuffling and including my name. So that would make it more random). After all the shuffles, which included spelling my name he asked me to get 2 cards which are on top and place it infront of his hand which he stretched forward on the camera. When I flattened it against the TV, some weird blurring occured and I was thinking maybe it's just some camera effects, then he said that my card wasn't there. When I looked at it, he's right! No 3 of diamonds! Then another 2 from the top and placed it against his hand, blurryness then he said again, no it's not there. Correct again. Last, he asked me to just pick one, just one card, the next from the previous two and place it again in front of his hand, then the TV got even blurrier and his hand glowed. Heavier effects, I thought. Then he said that's the one and to look at it finally...

...There goes my 3 of diamonds.

It was freaky. How did that happend? It was soooo awesome! I screamed and I laughed and I couldn't believe it! Unberrriibaborya! Sugoi na...

Chin up

I was just trying to help. I didn't want to look stupid in purpose, but I just did. I sat there, in line with 3 great people who knows so much more than me. And I was pretending to know it myself. But I was at a different level with them... it's embarrasing.

Nico asked me if I could be a guest to the show he's handling currently at TOMCAT because it's about films and he knows I like it. I declined for I know I don't know that much about film history and suck so I reccommended Akki and Leo. Nico said Akki didn't have a definite answer so he's last chance is Leo. Unfortunately, he had to go somewhere with his family and will be back too late to be a guest. Nico called me again and asked if I would be the guest. I felt guilty because I reccommended them and now my friend is left in desperation because he really needed one last person. And he told me this a day before the shooting! In my desperation to help a friend in need, I agreed to it. I recieved the questions that would be asked on the actual shooting and I think I pulled pretty well---in paper.

So the interview went on and I sat there almost like a stone. I wanted to evade every question. I couldn't comprehend my point in words. It's so much better in my head or when I write it. Okay, public speaking is out of my legue. I won't engage in that activity, only when necessary.

I don't know much about the Philippine Film industry or it's history for that matter. I like films and I like analyzing them. That's all. I'm not a suitable speaker for this topic. No sir. I just hope I didn't embarass Nico that much. They can edit the whole show and make it seem like I never existed that day, it's fine. But I did my very best... so I don't feel that bad about myself. I just can't help shooking my head whenever I remember that feeling in that studio. Hehe...

I just hope the next time they shoot that show, they have couch ready for the guests, because sitting there for a long time not relax your back, asks for some salonpas later. My back felt like hell after seating for so long! And they even want us to sit straight, of course which is the right position, but it's hard when you're a natural sloucher, ne? Good thing my mom still owes me a back massage so I got really comfy before I went to sleep early.

Yes, last night was the earliest I've slept since vacation started. 1:30 A.M.

On a lighter note... it's 2 days away from the 3rd Annual YAOI CON !!!

 yaoicon

Waaaahhhhh!!!! XD XD I'm so excited!!!!

Last... I was supposed to attach this with the entry, it's the lyrics of theme song for the GTO live-action drama, titled Poison. When you hear it, you'd thing it's just another j-pop song and a guy with a really deep voice that's singing it. However, when I watch the GTO movie, the ending theme was Poison again and there was a translation for the lyrics. The song has a strong message to it. Check it out yourself.

Note: The italized stanza is the english translation. And the bold ones are the original japanese lyrics. Credits to http://www.animelyrics.com.

Poison

Sung by: Sorimachi Takashi
Lyrics: Sorimachi Takashi
Composition: Inoue Shinjirou
Arrangement: Yoshida Ken

Itsu made mo shinjite-itai
saigo made omoi-tsudzuketai
jibun wa ikiru imi ga aru hazu to

Always, I want to keep believing...
Until the very end, I want to keep thinking...
that there has to be some meaning to my life.

sameta me de waraikakete'ru
tamashii wo okasareta yatsu
namida wo nagasu itami wa aru no kai?

Smiling with a cold glare
Do guys who have had their very soul violated
really feel the pain of shedding tears?

iitai koto mo ienai konna yo no naka ja
Poison
ore wa ore wo damasu koto naku ikite-yuku
Oh Oh

In this kind of world where you can't say what you want,
Poison
I'll go on with my life, still being true to myself.
Oh Oh

massugu mukiau ima ni
hokori wo motsu tame ni
tatakau koto mo hitsuyou na no sa

In this moment we face it head-on,
we have to fight
in order to keep our pride.

kaidan ni suwarikonde
owaranai yume no hanashi wo
yo ga akeru made katari-tsudzuketa

Sitting on the stairs,
we went on talking of unending dreams
until the break of dawn.

sarigenaku kisetsu wa kawari
muishiki ni shisen wo otoshi
nagasareru koto ni narete-yuku no ka

The seasons change casually
I unconsciously drop my eyes
Am I really getting used to being swept along?

chiisa na yume mo mirenai konna yo no naka ja
Poison
jibun rashisa zutto itsudemo suki de itai
Oh Oh

In this kind of world where you can't have even small dreams,
Poison
I want to always, always be able to like being who I am.
Oh Oh

jiyuu ni ikite'ku hibi wo
taisetsu ni shitai kara
ikitai michi wo ima arukidasu

I want to cherish
each day I can live freely, so
I'll walk whatever path I want.

Yaoi Con 2006

GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.... I'm effin tired, but I want to post this entry atleast before I sleep away with pleasurable memories of men...and men...and more  men...together...loving...nyahahaha!!!

No, this will not be a con report, because I'm too tired to make it formal. And I'm sure I've forgotten too many details to make this worth something. I'll make it up with the  pictures atleast, ne?

05.27.06

I woke up earlier than usual. Maybe I was excited. How long has it been since my last convention? Months ago. And this is a Y-A-O-I con, do I have to explain further? Yes,  homophobes and anti-yaoi men, such a convention exist, and we are many...MANY. Hahahaha!!!

Again (you're off topic again, baka!), I woke up at 10 o'clock to watch Guys and Gals at Arirang and to remind my oniichan early about the digicam. He used it when he went  to Puerto Galera (suwerte ng ungas na 'to!) last week, and I've been bugging him for three days to bring it here because I always take pictures at conventions. I've groomed  myself and fed my grudging pets deep down in the pits of my stomach and I only waited for my oniichan to arrive. I've been in a total yaoi mode for a week so I scanned  through Haru wo Daitteita for a while, then he arrived and I went my merry way to 7-11 to meet Mao.

Since me and Mao always make an effort to be thrifty with money, we walked to Guadalupe from Kalayaan under the burning heat of the sun. I don't know what was the  temperature was this afternoon, but it's enough to cause sunburn. I was planning on wearing my favorite hooded shirt and long stripped socks, but I've figured it would be too hot  so I went out with a more "summer" look. We headed to the MRT station and while Mao bought tickets, I withdraw some money from the ATM. Another walkaton from GMA  Kamuning Station to Centro Plaza Condomenium. Since we weren't familiar with the place we got lost along the way, and I tell you, it was a loooooong walk and it was fuckin'  hot out there! It was 2 in the afternoon, what do we expect!

Through asking for directions, we got there safely, totally human still, but I was thirsty as a dog! I was sweating like a pig so we went to the bathroom before we entered the  convention venue. After buying our passes, I was suprised at how small the place was, I think Crisanta Towers was bigger where Kinjo was held before, but it was okay.  There's an LCD projector, laptops everywhere, trading area, and a manga and doujinshi stall, courtesy of Red Threads. The trading was free for Lights Out members but they  needed the requests a week before the event, unfortunately for me I knew about it on the exact deadline date. So, no yaoi CDs for me this time. We sat at the corner and  watched this anime full of gag, gays, insects and animals that talks, and a whole lot of fun! I forgot the title, something like...Pu..pu...errr. Memory gap! yes! PAPUWA! Around that time, I  spotted Aubrey at the corner. She was alone so I asked her to come our place. I returned her Tokyo Babylon and my dorama back to me. She also lended me Kimi was Petto  and Hana Yori Dango dorama so Jun love for the following week! EEEEEEYYYYYEEEEYYYY!!!! Domo poh!

I think after the anime, a discussion was opened by one of the hosts. This year's con theme is: Animes and manga titles that became TOO GAY. Meaning, it's too overated and  slashable. Not only because of the characters themselves, but their relationship with other guys, their mannerism and actions, or there's just too many hints and cliche  situations going on. For me, I don't know what anime is TOO Gay for me, maybe "Papa To Kiss in the Dark"? Heheeh... I'm not sure. It's too gay for my taste.

Prince of Tennis was shown next but I didn't bother because I didn't want to be spoiled of what's the ending. I think that was the National Tournament, so I'm guessing it's the  concluding episodes. I still have 118 (episodes) to watch and enjoy and spoiling will not help my craving. Gyar. Mao and I went to the Doujin Library to borrow something.  Since most of the doujinshis there are japanese, I borrowed Eeerie Queerie instead which is translated in English (TOKYOPOP). I sat down and tried my best to read and finish  the volume but screaming fan-girls of PoT whenever the famous pairings appear and exchange "yaoish" words with each other, the power was unbeatable. I just browsed the  pages and returned the book immediately. After drinking juice, we went out for a while since Initial D followed anyway. I don't watch the anime in Animax because the dubbing  is CRAP. Destroyed the whole anime. So I don't know what's yaoish in there.

We went in after a short photoshoot, Mao as my model. Initial D wasn't finish yet so we grabbed food first. I saw Nanz with some of her friends, and of course exchange the  usual talks and "kamustahan". I miss this girl, she's really fun talking to. We went back to our spot, on the floor with Aubrey, and another discussion followed.

The topic this time is about: FANDOM. I'm not quite sure what's fandom, but relatiing it to myself, it's obsessing yourself with one anime title, doing searches and downloads for  that particular anime, affliating yourself with other communities building the name of that anime or manga title, pairing, doujinshi, etc. Just doing everything a fan would do for  the anime/manga they admire. One of the host's question goes like: "Does a Fandom die? Is there such a thing as Fandom death?" For me, it's No. None. Because even if one  member of that fandom pulls out of the 'fandom zone' somebody will still be there to continue and patronize it.

I think next was the showing of Ouran High School Host Club. GYYYYAAAAAHHH!!!! I so like this anime!!! There's so many bishies around and there's so much yaoi going on! And  of course, the gag is the magic element. My adrenallin just dropped suddenly when I found out that the heroin is only disguising as a boy, but she's actually a girl. Awww... I'd  really want this series, but Aubrey said it's still on-going in Japan, so reliable fan-subs of past and latest episodes are only availble on the web for download of the moment. At  the end of 2nd episode, I really needed to pee so we dashed to the CR. After the relief, I saw the two cute girls who were cosplaying DNAngels. They were really cute so I  guess cosplaying as cute guys wasn't too much of an effort for them. It suited them actually. And they were friendly too. When I told Mao that they were (they were beside  me) cosplaying DNAngel, they also noticed Mao's hair and said that she can cosplay Hiro of Gravitation and even asked to take a picture of her. Of course my little histrionic  psycho ecchi bestfriend was all smiles, ne? One of the girls looked like one of my former guy classmate in highschool.

We went in to finish the anime then Aubrey had to say goodbye early because it's her sister's birthday today, also. I think the: "Beat Sephirot" contest followed then the  cosplay? Gyah. Damn crappy memory of mine. The cosplay was short, they only posed there. I thought it would be like the usual: "number __ is ___!" and skit. No, they just  posed for pics. The DNAngel girls weren't there in the line-up so we went to them and asked for their picture instead. Great!!! Nice pose! The cosplay line up were mostly Loveless characters then a Gravitation also appeared. Uhm. Yeah. I just haven't seen the perfect Yuki Eiri cosplayer, yet. The cosplay ended the con but a really really provoking  scene was provided by some guys there so I jumped in and stole some "memories". Yeyyyyy!!!

The rain started pouring outside, but we decided to get going anyway. Since we had no umbrella, we were soaking wet until we got to the MRT station. I was imagining that  we'll get stranded somehow in that station, and boy was I right! Some technical problems occured so we waited almost an hour for the train to arrive. While waiting, we  entertained ourselves by singing "Old Mcdonlad Yaoi Song", chatting and taking advantage of the almost empty place of the MRT station, photoshoot again! Around 9, the train  arrived. We walked home and here I am.

Tired. Gyar. My eyes is only half open now, I think I really need to rest.
Leaving you with the pics! Enjoy!!!

The Lights Out banner, It was posted outside the condo so we were happy to see that we arrived at the right place.

As expected, there are alot of girls flooding around. Most fans of Yaoi are girls, so expect them to be present in conventions like these. Ready to scream and gigle at the sight of two bishies doing the unthinkable. (Gomen if it's kinda blurred. My hand was shaking that time.)

hosts

The hosts of the convention. Possibly they are moderators of the ML and Forum of LO too and events organizers. The pioneers of yaoi history 101. The ones we owe alot for making such a convention possible. DOMO!

This is the DOUJINSHIS that I mentioned about that was inside the Doujin Library. Not of all of them are yaoi doujinshi, some were artbooks of various animes like Rurouni Kenshin, some where graphic novels like Neil Gaiman's Sandman. Most of them were japanese, but some manga were the US licensed type like Eerie Queerie. Beside the table of the books were laptops where you can view some manga scans. Of course to make the distribution of the items fairly for con members, each borrower was given a limited time of 30 minutes or 1 hour i think each.

ourin

Ouran High School Host Club, one of the most enjoyable that I've watched there. Full of bishies in uniform eh? The brown haired in the middle is the main character whom is a girl.

These were the cosplay line-up in front. The first pic is a Gravitation cosplay, beside them is...I don't know. The second pic are Loveless cosplayers.

dnangel
The two kawaii girls as DNAngels characters. Pretty convincing, eh?

KONTROBERSIYAL!

I'm sort of hesitant to post these pics here, but since they acted out in front knowing we'd be taking pictures of them in thos positions, I guess it's okay. Made my day complate! This is a YAOI con after all, it wouldn't be complate without some live yaoi fun with the resident boys, ne? ^_~
